RESOLUTION NO. 2001-{)40 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, ADOPTING A REVISED VOTING DISTRICT MAP; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 14th day of June, 1999, by Resolution No. 99-068, adopt a Voting District Map, which said map was amended on the 10th day ofJuly, 2000, by Resolution No. 2000-093; and, WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore, on the 12th day of March, 2001, by Ordinance No. 2001-013, annex by petition 14.563 acres, more or less, known as The Hills Subdivision; and, WHEREAS, the City did heretofore, on the 9th day of April, 2001, annex by petition 48.42 acres, more or less, known as Stone Ridge Subdivision; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that the revised Voting District Map attached hereto as Exhibit A, which provides for the inclusion of the newly annexed areas into existing voting districts, be approved and adopted; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the Voting District Map attached hereto as Exhibit A be, and the same is hereby, approved and adopted. Section 3. That it is determined that the revisions made to such map will not have the effect of abridging the right of any person to vote on account of race, color, or membership in a language minority or group.
