<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-048

<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. ONE TO CONTRACT
<br />FOR THE MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR DRIVE EXTENSION FROM 6TH
<br />STREET N.E. WEST TO N. MAIN STREET; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS
<br />AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN
<br />EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the II th day of
<br />December, 2000, in Resolution No. 2000-181, award the contract for "Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive
<br />Extension from 6th Street N.E. west to N. Main Street Project," to Stephens & Sons Concrete; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the acting City Engineer, Frank Davis, acting as project engineer, recommends
<br />the amendment of the contract for said project to reflect the actual cost of installing eight (8) units
<br />ofa Type E inlet 5'-0", and providing for a net increase of $21,600.00 in the contract price, for a
<br />total contract price of$449,375.00; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the form of Change Order No. One, attached hereto as Exhibit A, should, in
<br />all things, be approved, and the Mayor should be authorized to execute the same; NOW,
<br />THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:
<br />
<br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble TO this resolution are hereby in all things
<br />approved.
<br />
<br />Section 2. That the form of Change Order No. One to the Contract for the "Martin Luther
<br />King, Jr. Drive Extension from 6th Street N.E. west to N. Main Street Project," attached hereto as
<br />Exhibit A, to reflect the actual cost of installation of eight (8) units of a Type E inlet 5'-0", and
<br />providing for a net increase of $21,600.00 in the contract price, for a total contract price of
<br />$449,375.00, be, and the same is hereby, approved.
<br />
<br />Section 3. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf
<br />of the City of Paris, said Change Order No. One, upon the terms and conditions and in the form
<br />shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto.
<br />
<br />Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
<br />
<br />PASSED AND APPROVED this 9th day of April, 2001.
