RESOLUTION NO. 2001-049 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING DISASTER RELIEF FUNDING FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, NATURAL RESOURCE CONSERVATION SERVICE, FOR THE CITY OF PARIS- USDA/NRCS DRAINAGE DITCH STORM DEBRIS REMOVAL PROJECT IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $214,700.00, WITH THE CITY'S SHARE TO BE TWENTY-FIVE PERCENT (25%) OF THE TOTAL COST TO BE PROVIDED IN THE FORM OF IN-KIND SERVICES; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, CITY ATTORNEY, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS, AND DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO REVIEW AND APPROVE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS INCIDENT TO THE RECEIPT OF SAID FUNDING; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the city of Paris, Texas, on the 25th day of December, 2000, and continuing thereafter, suffered widespread and severe damage, injury, and loss oflife or property resulting from extreme winter conditions and ice storms; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has previously adopted Resolution No. 2001-001 on January 8, 2001, declaring a local disaster in the city of Paris pursuant to Section 418.108 of the Disaster Act of 1975 as a consequence of said severe winter conditions and ice storms; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 29th day ofJanuary, 2001, in Resolution No. 2001-007, declare an emergency for purposes of purchases pursuant to Section 252.022 of the Local Government Code, providing for the implementation of emergency procurement procedures; and, WHEREAS, the United States Department of Agriculture, Natural Resource and Conservation Service (USDAlNRCS), has offered to provide disaster relief funding to the City of Paris for debris removal from ditches located throughout Paris; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of receiving said funding for the City ofParis-USDAlNRCS Drainage Ditch Storm Debris Removal Project at a total estimated cost of$214, 700.00, with 75% of said estimated cost to be provided by the United States Department of Agriculture, Natural Resource Conservation Service, and 25% of such estimated cost to be provided by the City ofparis in the form of in-kind services; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved.
