~ RESOLUTION NO. 2002-179 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AWARDING THE BID FOR DEMOLITION AND CONSTRUCTION OF CURB AND GUTTER, STANDARD DRIVEWAY APPROACHES, AND REINFORCED CONCRETE SIDEWALKS FOR THE STREET DIVISION OF THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the II th day of November, 2002, in Resolution No. 2002-168, approve the advertisement for bids for the demolition and construction of curb and gutter, standard driveway approaches, and reinforced concrete sidewalks for the Street Division of the Public Works Department as part of the City's annual street maintenance program, which bids were received until 3:00 o'clock P.M., Tuesday, the 3rd day of December, 2002; and, WHEREAS, the best bid for such services was made by Hilliard and Sons Contractors, Inc. of Paris, Texas, and it should be awarded the bid for the same; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the bid of Hilliard and Sons Contractors, Inc. for the demolition and construction of curb and gutter, standard driveway approaches, and reinforced concrete sidewalks as part of the City's annual street maintenance program, in the amount of $360,000.00, be, and the same is hereby, accepted and let conditioned upon said contractor meeting all of the terms and specifications included in the bid documents. Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after the date of passage. PASSED AND APPROVED this 9th day of December, 2002.
