<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002-153

<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, AWARDING THE BID FOR FURNISHING LABOR,
<br />MATERIALS, AND EQillPMENT AND FOR PERFORMING ALL WORK
<br />REQillRED FOR GROUNDS MAINTENANCE ON SPECIFIED CITY OF
<br />PARIS PARKS AND FACILITIES; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
<br />THE AGREEMENT FOR GROUNDS MAINTENANCE; MAKING OTHER
<br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND
<br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 12th day of
<br />August, 2002, in Resolution No.2002-132, authorize the advertisement for bids for furnishing
<br />labor, materials, and equipment and for performing all work required for grounds maintenance
<br />on specified City of Paris parks and facilities, which bids were received until 3:00 p.m., Tuesday,
<br />September 3,2002; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the best bid for performing such work was made by Jack Ray Barton, and
<br />he should be awarded the bid for the same; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the form of the Agreement for Grounds Maintenance, attached hereto as
<br />Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor of the City of Paris should be
<br />authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:

<br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
<br />things approved.
<br />
<br />Section 2. That the bid by Jack Ray Barton for furnishing labor, materials, ~nd equipment
<br />and for performing all work required for grounds maintenance on specified City of Paris parks and
<br />facilities, in the amount of $32,750.00, be, and the same is hereby, accepted and let.
<br />
<br />Section 3. That the form of the Agreement for Grounds Maintenance between the City of
<br />Paris and Jack Ray Barton, attached hereto as Exhibit A, be, and the same is hereby, approved.
<br />
<br />Section 4. That the Mayor of the City of Paris be, and he is hereby, authorized and
<br />directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Agreement for Grounds Maintenance with
<br />Jack Ray Barton for a term of five (5) years, beginning on October 1, 2002, and ending on
<br />September 30, 2007, upon the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached
<br />hereto. '

<br />Section 5. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
