RESOLUTION NO. 2002-156 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF DEEDS OF ABANDONMENT TO THE ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNERS OF A FIFTY (50) FOOT WIDE STREET KNOWN AS COUNTY ROAD 42602, AND ALSO KNOWN AS SIMMONS DRIVE, IN THE EAST SUBURBAN ESTATES ADDITION ABANDONED BY ORDINANCE NO. 2002-053 FROM THE WEST BOUNDARY LINE OF MOCKINGBIRD LANE GOING WEST APPROXIMATELY 150 FEET TO THE END OF SAID SIMMONS DRIVE, BETWEEN PINE MILL ROAD AND NOLES DRIVE; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, it has been called to the attention of the City Council of the City of Paris that there is a street known as County Road 42602, and also known as Simmons Drive, in the East Suburban Estates Addition running east and west, beginning at the west boundary line of Mockingbird Lane going west a distance of 150 feet to the end of said Simmons Drive, located between Pine Mill Road and Noles Drive; and, WHEREAS, it has been called to the attention of the City Council by petition of the property owners that the street is not desired by the property owners adjacent to said street and said street is of no use or necessity to the City of Paris and its citizens; and, WHEREAS, the City Council, by prior Ordinance No.2oo2-053, adopted October 10, 2002, has authorized the City to abandon the City's interest in the aforesaid street; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that the City's interest in said street be conveyed to the adjacent owners on either side of said street; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the Mayor of the City of Paris be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, deeds of abandonment conveying to the adjacent owners on either side of said street, in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, the City's interest in the abandoned street located between Pine Mill Road and Noles Drive in East Suburban Estates Addition, beginning at the west boundary line of Mockingbird Lane going west a distance of 150 feet to the end of said Simmons Drive, it appearing that the real and true owners of the hereinafter described lots are as follows:
