<br />r-- <br /> <br />--. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002-100 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, DIRECTING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF INTENTION <br />TO ISSUE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, COMBINATION TAX AND <br />REVENUE CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION, SERIES 2002; MAKING <br />OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, deems it advisable to give notice of intention <br />to issue Certificates of Obligation in the amount of $6,060,000.00 for paying all or a portion of <br />the City's contractual obligations for the purpose of acquiring an 83,000 sq. ft. building situated <br />on 23 acres, being referred to as the DARCO Building, which will be converted to a law <br />enforcement center for police, courts and jail, and other improvements related thereto; and for <br />paying legal, fiscal, architectural, and engineering fees in connection with these projects; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this <br />resolution was passed was open to the public and public notice of the time, place, and purpose of <br />said meeting was given, all as required by Chapter 551, Texas Government Code; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. That attached hereto as Exhibit A is a form of the Notice of Intention to issue <br />Certificates of Obligation, the form and substance of which is hereby adopted and approved. <br /> <br />Section 3. That the City Clerk shall cause said notice to be published in substantially the <br />form attached hereto in a newspaper of general circulation in said city, and published in said city , <br />on the same day in each of two consecutive weeks, the date of the first publication thereof to be <br />at least fourteen (14) days prior to the time set for the issuance of such certificates of obligation <br />as shown in said notice. <br /> <br />Section 4. That this resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED this 10th day of June, 2002. <br /> <br />
