<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002-111
<br />
<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE BUILDING AND
<br />STANDARDS COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PARIS, MAKING OTHER
<br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND
<br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 10th day of June,
<br />2002, in Ordinance No. 2002-032, create a Building and Standards Commission to hear and
<br />determine cases concerning alleged violations of Article III, Sections 7-46 Through 7-57, entitled
<br />II Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures "; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Building and Standards Commission shall consist of seven (7) members
<br />appointed by the City Council, each of whom shall be a resident of the city of Paris, Texas, and,
<br />as nearly as practical, shall be qualified in one or more of the fields of fIre prevention, building
<br />construction, sanitation, health and public safety, and historic preservation, and, as nearly as
<br />practical, shall be selected one (1) each from each City Council District; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council shall also appoint four (4) alternate members of the
<br />Commission who shall serve in the absence of one or more regular members when requested to
<br />do so by the City Manager or a Code Inspector as the City Manager's designee; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council deems it appropriate to appoint Brad Archer, Mary
<br />Crumpler, and Chad Brown for terms of one (1) year, beginning July 1,2002, and ending June
<br />30, 2003, or until their successors are appointed; Lucius Joe, Jr., Tommy Robinson, Harrell
<br />Tippitt, and Mark Rothfuss for terms of two (2) years, beginning July 1, 2002, and ending June
<br />30, 2004, or until their successors are appointed; Vic Ressler, Jr. and Ward Hall as alternate
<br />members for terms of one (1) year, beginning July 1, 2002, and ending June 30, 2003, or until
<br />their successors are appointed; and Billy Hill and Pike Burkhart as alternate members for terms
<br />of two (2) years, beginning July 1,2002, and ending June 30,2004, or until their successors are
<br />appointed; NOW, THEREFORE,

<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:

<br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
<br />things approved.
<br />
<br />Section 2. That Brad Archer, Mary Crumpler, and Chad Brown be, and they are hereby,
<br />appointed to the Building and Standards Commission of the City of Paris for terms of one (1) year ,
<br />beginning July 1, 2002, and ending June 30, 2003.
<br />
<br />Section 3. That Lucius Joe, Jr., Tommy Robinson, Harrell Tippitt, and Mark Rothfuss
<br />be, and they are hereby, appointed to the Building and Standards Commission of the City of Paris
<br />for terms of two (2) year, beginning July 1, 2002, and ending June 30, 2004.

<br />Section 4. That Vic Ressler, Jr. and Ward Hall be, and they are hereby, appointed as
<br />alternate members to the Building and Standards Commission of the City of Paris for terms of one
<br />(1) year, beginning July 1, 2002, and ending June 30, 2003.
