<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING TEXAS NARCOTICS CONTROL PROGRAM
<br />GRANT AWARD; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE GRANTEE
<br />ACCEPTANCE NOTICE; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS
<br />RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 10th day of
<br />December, 2001, in Resolution No. 2001-191, authorize an application to the Office of the
<br />Governor, Criminal Justice Division, Texas Narcotics Control Program, for a Regional Controlled
<br />Substance Apprehension Program Grant; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor has issued its Grant A ward entitled "Regional
<br />Controlled Substance Apprehension Program (Task Force)," No. DB-02-AlO-13854-04, for the
<br />period beginning June 1,2002, and ending May 31, 2003, in the total amount of $388,470.00,
<br />requiring the City of Paris to provide $21,582.00 in the form of cash; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, acceptance of the same must occur within forty-five (45) days of the date of
<br />said award, which occurred on April 19, 2002; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris that the City
<br />of Paris accept said Grant A ward and continue to improve the Regional Controlled Substance
<br />Apprehension Program in the City of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:

<br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
<br />things approved.
<br />
<br />Section 2. That the Regional Controlled Substance Apprehension Program Grant entitled
<br />"Regional Controlled Substance Apprehension Program (Task Force)," No. DB-02-AlO-13854-04,
<br />for the period beginning June 1, 2002, and ending May 31, 2003, in the total amount of
<br />$388,470.00, requiring the City of Paris to provide $21,582.00 in the form of cash, be, and the
<br />same is hereby, accepted.
<br />
<br />Section 3. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute,
<br />on behalf of the City of Paris, the Grantee Acceptance Notice, under the terms and conditions and
<br />in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto.
<br />
<br />Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
