<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002-094
<br />
<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE BOARD OF
<br />DIRECTORS OF THE ARK- TEX COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS;
<br />MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE
<br />SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council ofthe City of Paris did heretofore, by Resolution No. 1330,
<br />on the 8th day of September, 1969, become a member of the Ark- Tex Council of Governments; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, in accordance with the Bylaws of the Ark-Tex Council of Governments, its
<br />Board of Directors shall be composed of members elected or appointed by its membership; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council is entitled to appoint three of its members to serve on the
<br />Board of Directors of the Ark-Tex Council of Governments, as provided in said Bylaws; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the terms of office of Michael J. Pfiester, Joe E. McCarthy, and Richard
<br />Manning, as members ofthe Board of Directors ofthe Ark- Tex Council of Governments, expire on
<br />May 31,2002; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris does hereby recommend the reappointments of
<br />of Michael J. Pfiester, Joe E. McCarthy, and Richard Manning for terms of one (1) year, beginning
<br />June 1, 2002, and ending May 31, 2003, or for as long as they are members of the City Council, or
<br />until their successors are duly appointed; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:

<br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
<br />approved.
<br />
<br />Section 2. That of Michael J. Pfiester, Joe E. McCarthy, and Richard Manning be, and they
<br />are hereby, reappointed to serve as members of the Board of Directors of the Ark-Tex Council of
<br />Governments for terms of one (1) year, beginning June 1,2002, and ending May 31,2003, or for as
<br />long as they are members of the City Council, or until their successors are duly appointed.
<br />
<br />Section 3. That Michael J. Pfiester be, and he is hereby, recommended for appointment by
<br />the Board of Directors of the Ark-Tex Council of Governments to the Executive Committee of the
<br />Ark- Tex Council of Governments.
<br />
<br />Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
