RESOLUTION NO. 2002-085 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN INTERLOCAL GOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR COMMUNITY POLICING DRUG ELIMINATION SERVICES WITH THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF PARIS; PROVIDING FOR SECURITY SERVICES BY AND THROUGH THE PARIS POLICE DEPARTMENT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, funding for community policing and drug elimination and prevention services was made available to the Housing Authority ofthe City of Pal is under the FY 2000-2001 Public and Indian Housing Drug Elimination Program; and, WHEREAS, the City of Paris , by and through the Paris Police Department, furnished said community policing drug elimination services to the Housing Authority from February 1, 2001, though October 15, 2001; and, WHEREAS, an Interlocal Governmental Agreement for Community Policing Drug Elimination Services between the City of Paris and the Housing Authority, attached hereto as Exhibit A, is necessary for the City to be recompensed in the amount of$3 8,810. 00 for such services already rendered, and, as a consequence, said agreement should, in all things, be approved, and the City Manager should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the form of an Interlocal Governmental Agreement for Community Policing Drug Elimination Services between the City of Paris and the Housing Authority of the City of Paris, attached hereto as Exhibit A, be, and the same is hereby, approved. Section 3. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, an Interlocal Governmental Agreement with the Housing Authority of the City of Paris for the City to be recompensed for the provision of security services by and through the Paris Police Department, upon the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto. Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
