<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, RATIFYING THE EXECUTION OF THE GRANTEE
<br />SUPPLEMENTAL ACCEPTANCE NOTICE FOR ACCEPTANCE OF THE
<br />TEXAS NARCOTICS CONTROL PROGRAM GRANT AWARD; MAKING
<br />OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT;
<br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 11th day of
<br />March, 2002, in Resolution No. 2002-052, authorize a supplemental grant application to the Office
<br />of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, for a Texas Narcotics Control Program Grant; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, has issued its
<br />supplemental Grant A ward entitled "Regional Controlled Substance Apprehension Program (Task
<br />Force)," No. DB-OI-AlO-13854-03, for the period beginning June 1, 2001, and ending May 31,
<br />2002, in the total supplemental award of $8,351.00, requiring the City of Paris and other Task
<br />Force participants to provide $2,122.00 in the form of cash, for a total grant amount of
<br />$394,832.00, requiring the City of Paris and other Task Force participants to provide $131,612.00
<br />in total cash match; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, acceptance of the same must occur within forty-five (45) days of the date of
<br />said award, which occurred on April 10, 2002; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris that the
<br />acceptance of said supplemental grant award be ratified and that the City of Paris continue to
<br />improve the Regional Controlled Substance Apprehension Program in the City of Paris; NOW,
<br />THEREFORE,

<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:

<br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
<br />things approved.
<br />
<br />Section 2. That the execution of the Grantee Supplemental Acceptance Notice for
<br />acceptance of the Texas Narcotics Control Program Grant entitled "Regional Controlled Substance
<br />Apprehension Program (Task Force)," No. DB-OI-AlO-13854-03, for the period beginning June
<br />1,2001, and ending May 31, 2002, in the total supplemental award of $8,351.00, requiring the
<br />City of Paris and other Task Force participants to provide $2,122.00 in the form of cash, for a
<br />total grant amount of $394,832.00, requiring the City of Paris and other Task Force participants
<br />to provide $131,612.00 in total cash match, is hereby in all things ratified.

<br />Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
