<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003.,.124

<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE AUTOMOBILE THEFT PREVENTION
<br />GRANT AWARD; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE GRANTEE
<br />ACCEPTANCE NOTICE; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS
<br />RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 12th day of May,
<br />2003, in Resolution No. 2003-091, authorize an application to the Texas Automobile Theft
<br />Prevention Authority for an Automobile Theft Prevention Grant in the amount of $155,689.00,
<br />with $46,016.00 to be provided by the City of Paris in the form of cash and $19,700.00 in the
<br />form of in-kind services; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Texas Automobile Theft Prevention Authority has issued its Grant A ward
<br />entitled entitled "Northeast Texas Automobile Theft Task Force," No. SA-TOI-loo62-04, for the
<br />period beginning September 1, 2003, and ending August 31,2004, in the amount of$155,689.oo,
<br />with $52,528.00 to be provided by the City of Paris in the form of cash and $19,700.00 in the
<br />form of in-kind services; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, acceptance of the same must occur within thirty (30) days of the date of said
<br />award, which occurred on July 7, 2003; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris that the City
<br />of Paris accept said Grant A ward and continue to improve the Automobile Theft Prevention
<br />Program in the city of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:

<br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
<br />things approved.
<br />
<br />Section 2. That the Texas Automobile Theft Prevention Grant entitled "Northeast Texas
<br />Automobile Theft Task Force," No. SA-T01-10062-04, for the period beginning September 1,
<br />2003, and ending August 31,2004, in the amountof$155,689.00, with $52,528.00 to be provided
<br />by the City of Paris in the form of cash and $19,700.00 in the form of in-kind services, be, and
<br />the same is hereby, accepted.
<br />
<br />Section 3. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute,
<br />on behalf of the City of Paris, the Grantee Acceptance Notice, under the terms and conditions and
<br />in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto.
<br />
<br />Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
