<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003-082
<br />
<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, AWARDING THE BID FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE
<br />SPORTS PAVILION, INCLUDING THE METAL BUILDING, CONCRETE
<br />SLAB, AND ELECTRICAL AND MASONRY WORK, AS PART OF THE
<br />OVERALL COMPLETION OF PHASE I OF THE PARIS SPORTS
<br />COMPLEX PROJECT; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A
<br />CONTRACT FOR SAID CONSTRUCTION; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS
<br />AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN
<br />EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 26th day of
<br />January, 1995, in Resolution No. 95-018 approve and adopt the Parks and Recreational Master
<br />Plan for the City of Paris; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore, on the 9th day of April, 2001, in Resolution
<br />No. 2001-044 ,authorize the preparation of plans and specification for the construction of Phase
<br />I of the Paris Sports Complex Project; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore, on the 17th day of March, 2003, in
<br />Resolution No. 2003-060, approve the plans and specifications and authorize the advertisement
<br />for bids for performing all work required for construction of Phase I of the Paris Sports Complex,
<br />which bids were received until 2:00 o'clock p.m., Wednesday, the 16th day of April, 2003; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the best bid for construction of the sports pavilion, including the metal
<br />building, concrete slab, and electrical and masonry work, was made by Richard Drake
<br />Construction Company of Powderly , Texas, and it should be awarded the bid for the same; NOW,
<br />THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:
<br />
<br />Section 1. That the fmdings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all
<br />things approved.
<br />
<br />Section 2. That the bid of Richard Drake Construction Company for the construction of
<br />the sports pavilion, including the metal building, concrete slab, and electrical and masonry work,
<br />as part of the overall completion of Phase I of the Paris Sports Complex Project, in the amount
<br />of $247,581.00, be, and the same is hereby, accepted and let conditioned upon said contractor
<br />meeting all of the, terms and specifications included in the bid documents.
