<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003-080
<br />
<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, AWARDING THE BIn FOR INSTALLATION OF
<br />SOFTBALL FIELD FENCING, INCLUDING CHAIN LINK FENCING,
<br />BACKSTOPS, AND DUGOUTS, AS PART OF THE OVERALL
<br />COMPLETION OF PHASE I OF THE PARIS SPORTS COMPLEX
<br />PROJECT; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT FOR
<br />SAID CONSTRUCTION; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS
<br />RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 26th day of
<br />January, 1995, in Resolution No. 95-018 approve and adopt the Parks and Recreational Master
<br />Plan for the City of Paris; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore, on the 9th day of April, 2001, in Resolution
<br />No. 2001-044 ,authorize the preparation of plans and specification for the construction of Phase
<br />I of the Paris Sports Complex Project; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore, on the 17th day of March, 2003, in
<br />Resolution No. 2003-060, approve the plans and specifications and authorize the advertisement
<br />for bids for performing all work required for construction of Phase I of the Paris Sports Complex,
<br />which bids were received until 2:00 o'clock p.m., Wednesday, the 16th day of April, 2003; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the best bid for installation of softball field fencing, including chain link
<br />fencing, backstops, and dugouts, was made by Richard Drake Construction Company of
<br />Powderly, Texas, and it should be awarded the bid for the same; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:

<br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all
<br />things approved.
<br />
<br />Section 2. That the bid of Richard Drake Construction Company for the installation of
<br />softball field fencing, including chain link fencing, backstops, and dugouts, as part of the overall
<br />completion of Phase I of the Paris Sports Complex Project, in the amount of$121,731.66, be, and
<br />the same is hereby, accepted and let conditioned upon said contractor meeting all of the terms and
<br />specifications included in the bid documents.
<br />
<br />Section 3. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on
<br />behalf of the City of Paris, the contract with Richard Drake Construction Company, under the
<br />terms and conditions and in the form approved by the City Attorney.
