.~ RESOLUTION NO. 2003-093 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. ONE TO CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW ANIMAL SHELTER; ACCEPTING A DONATION OF $40,000.00 FROM THE MARY COOKEELUSTRUSTONBEHALFOFTHELAMARCOUNTY~ SOCIETY IN FURTHERANCE OF SAID PROJECT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 12th day of August, 2002, in Resolution No. 2002-129, award the contract for the "City of Paris Animal Shelter Project" to Reeves Construction Services, Inc.; and, WHEREAS, the City Engineer, Shawn Napier, acting as project engineer, recommends the amendment of the contract for said project to reflect changes as described on Exhibit A attached hereto, and providing for a net decrease of $26,674.00 in the contract price for a total contract price of $414,826.00; and, WHEREAS, the form of Change Order No. One, attached hereto as Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the form of Change Order No. One to the Contract for the "City of Paris Animal Shelter Project," attached hereto as Exhibit A, for the said project to reflect changes as described on Exhibit A attached hereto, and providing for a net decrease of $26,674.00 in the contract price for a total contract price of $414,826.00, be, and the same is hereby, approved. Section 3. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, said Change Order No. One, upon the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto. Section 4. That a donation of $40,000.00 from the Mary Cooke Ellis Trust on behalf of the Lamar County Humane Society in furtherance of said project is hereby accepted with the thanks and appreciation of the City Council and the citizens of the city of Paris. Section 5. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
