<br />~. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003-091 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, RATIFYING AN APPLICATION FOR AN AUTOMOBILE <br />THEFT PREVENTION GRANT; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF <br />ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR ACCEPTANCE AND <br />IMPLEMENTATION OF SAID GRANT UPON NOTICE THEREOF; <br />MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE <br />SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Texas Automobile Theft Prevention Authority provides funding for <br />automobile theft prevention grants; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of processing a grant <br />application for the Automobile Theft Prevention Grant entitled "Northeast Texas Automobile Theft <br />Task Force" project beginning September 1, 2003, and ending August 31, 2004, in the amount <br />of $155,689.00, with $46,016.00 to be provided by the City of Paris in the form of cash and <br />$19,700.00 in the form of in-kind services; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the deadline for actual filing of the grant application occurred prior to the <br />date of the next regular City Council meeting, and a timely application has been fIled, subject to <br />City Council ratification; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the Mayor, City Manager, Police Chief, <br />and other appropriate City staff to accept and implement said grant (if same is received) without <br />further action of City Council; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the fmdings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the filing of an application to the Texas Automobile Theft Prevention <br />Authority for an Automobile Theft Prevention Grant entitled "Northeast Texas Automobile Theft <br />Task Force" project beginning September 1, 2003, and ending August 31, 2004, in the amount <br />of $89,973.00, being approximately 58 % of the estimated cost of the Automobile Theft Prevention <br />Program, with $46,016.00 to be provided by the City of Paris in the form of cash and $19,700.00 <br />in the form of in-kind services, is hereby in all things ratified. <br /> <br />Section 3. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, appointed as the Authorized <br />Official of said project. <br />
