RESOLUTION NO. 2003-104 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE CERTIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT DIVISION OF THE TEXAS mSTORICAL COMMISSION TO RECEIVE GRANT FUNDS TO PARTIALLY FUND THE COMPLETION OF AN UPDATED mSTORIC RESOURCE SURVEY OF THE CITY OF PARIS; AUTHORIZING AND CONDITIONING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS; ACCEPTING SAID GRANT AWARD UPON NOTICE THEREOF; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR ACCEPTANCE AND IMPLEMENTATION OF SAID GRANT UPON NOTICE THEREOF; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Texas Historic Commission, Certified Local Government Division, provides grant funding for Certified Local Government (CLG) grants; and, WHEREAS, the City of Paris Historic Preservation Commission has recommended to the City Council of the City of Paris that a grant application be submitted to the Texas Historical Commission seeking grant assistance to perform an updated survey of historic resources within the City of Paris; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of submitting a grant application to partially fund the completion of an updated survey of historic resources in the city of Paris, Texas, with $5,000.00 to be provided by grant and $5,000.00 cash match to be provided by local resources; and, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the Mayor, City Manager, and appropriate City staff to accept and implement said grant (if same is received) without further action of City Council; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That an application be made to the Texas Historic Commission, Certified Local Government Division, for a Certified Local Government (CLG) Grant in the amount of $5,000.00 to partially fund an updated survey of historic resources, with a $5,000.00 cash match to be provided by local resources.
