2003-060-RES APPROVE PLANS AND SPECS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PARIS SPORTS COMPLEX PROJECT

RESOLUTION NO. 2003-060 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE PARIS SPORTS COMPLEX PROJECT; AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR SAID CONSTRUCTION; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 26th day of January, 1995, in Resolution No. 95-018 approve and adopt the Parks and Recreational Master Plan for the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore, on the 9th day of April, 2001, in Resolution No. 2001-044 ,authorize the preparation of plans and specification for the construction of the Paris Sports Complex Project; and, WHEREAS, such plans and specifications have been prepared by MHS Planning & Design, with the title being given thereto of the "Paris Sports Complex" project, which plans and specifications are recommended for approval by the City Engineer of the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that such plans and specifications be approved and such projects should be authorized for advertisement for bids; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the plans and specifications for the "Paris Sports Complex Project" be, and the same is hereby, approved. Section 3. That the City Manager and the Public Works Director may bid said construction in such number of separate construction projects as they shall deem necessary and appropriate incident to completing the overall construction of the Sports Complex as efficiently and rapidly as possible. Section 4. That such construction project or projects be advertised for bids to be received after due notice at the office of the City Manager of the City of Paris, City Hall, 135 1st Street S.E., Paris, Texas 75460, until 3:00 o'clock p.m. on April, 22, 2003, or at such other date and time as the City Manager shall determine, at which time said bids will be opened in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 135 1st Street S.E., Paris, Lamar County, Texas, and bids will be tabulated and referred to the City Council for its consideration.
