<br />~ <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003.046 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) MODEL <br />YEAR 2003 4-WHEEL DRIVE EXTEND-A-HOE LOADER FOR USE IN <br />THE STREET DIVISION OF THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, <br />SUBJECT TO THE CITY OBTAINING ACCEPT ABLE FINANCING <br />TERMS FROM OUTSIDE SOURCES; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER AND THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO OBTAIN <br />SUCH FINANCING; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A LEASE <br />PURCHASE AGREEMENT AND ANY AND ALL OTHER NECESSARY <br />DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE TRANSACTION APPROVED HEREIN; <br />MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE <br />SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 9th day of <br />December, 2002, in Resolution No. 2002-190, approve the advertisement for bids for one (1) <br />model year 2003 4-wheel drive Extend-a-hoe Loader for use in the Street Division of the Public <br />Works Department, which bids were received until 3:00 o'clock P.M., Tuesday, the 4th day of <br />February, 2003; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the best bid for such equipment was made by United Rentals of Sherman, <br />Texas, and it should be awarded the bid for the same <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is further deemed appropriate that the City Manager be authorized to execute <br />a Lease Purchase Agreement for said equipment for a total purchase price of$59,980.00, subject to <br />the city obtaining acceptable financing terms from outside sources; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the fmdings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, <br />on behalf of the City of Paris, a Lease Purchase Agreement, upon such terms and conditions and in <br />such form as approved by the City Attorney, at the price of $59,980.00, financing the purchase of <br />one (1) model year 2003 4-wheel drive Extend-a-hoe Loader for use in the Street Division of the <br />Public Works Department, subject to the City obtaining acceptable financing terms from outside <br />sources. <br /> <br />Section 3. That the City Manager and the Director of Public Works be, and they are <br />hereby, authorized and directed to seek and obtain acceptable financing terms for such purchase. <br />
