RESOLUTION NO. 2004-115 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF DEEDS OF ABANDONMENT TO THE ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNERS OF THE CITyrS INTEREST IN A PORTION OF A TIDRTY (30) FOOT WIDE STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY KNOWN AS 27m STREET N.E. ABANDONED BY ORDINANCE NO. 2004-017 FROM THE SOUTH BOUNDARY LINE OF PINE BLUFF STREET, GOING SOUTH TO THE NORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF LOT 10, CITY BLOCK 255-A; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, it has been called to the attention of the City Council of the City of Paris that there is a portion of a street right-of-way known as 27th Street N.E. running North and South, beginning at the South Boundary Line of Pine Bluff Street and going South approximately 150.5 feet to the North Boundary Line of Lot 10, City Block 255-A; and, WHEREAS, it has been called to the attention of the City Council by petition of the property owners that the street right-of-way is no longer desired by the property owners adjacent to said street; and, WHEREAS, the City Council, by prior Ordinance No. 2004-017 adopted July 8, 2004, has authorized the City to abandon the City's interest in the aforesaid street right-of-way; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate in accordance with state law that the City's interest in said street right -of-way be conveyed to the adjacent owners on either side of said street; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the Mayor of the City of Paris, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, deeds of abandonment conveying to each adjacent owner on either side of a thirty (30) foot wide street right-of-way the City's interest in said abandoned street right-of-way, divided equally in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, beginning at the South Boundary Line of Pine Bluff Street, and going South approximately 150.5 feet to the North Boundary Line of Lot 10, City Block 255-A, it appearing that the real and true owners of the hereinafter described adjacent lots are as follows:
