RESOLUTION NO. 2004-146 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT FOR NEW BIDS FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION AND CONVERSION OF THE UARCO BUILDING TO A NEW POLICE, COURT, AND JAIL FACILITY; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 13th day of May, 2002, in Resolution No. 2002-75 authorize the preparation of plans and specifications for a project ofre-construction and conversion of the DARCO building to a new police, court, and jail facility; and, WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore on the 10th day of May, 2004, in Resolution No. 2004-093 approve the plans and specifications and authorize the advertisement for bids for performing all work required for said reconstruction and conversion project, which bids were received until 3:00 o'clock p.m. Thursday, the 5th day of August, 2004; and, WHEREAS, no bids were received which were within the City's budgeted cost for said project; and, WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore on the 16th day of August, 2004 in Resolution No. 2004-145 reject all bids for said reconstruction and conversion project; and, WHEREAS, the City Council desires the re-advertisement for bids for said reconstruction and conversion project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the project for reconstruction and conversion of the DARCO building to a new Police, Court, and Jail facility be re-advertised for bids to be received after due notice at the office of the City Manager of the City of Paris, City Hall, 135 pt Street S.E., Paris, Texas 75460, at such date and time as the City Engineer shall determine, at which time said bids will be opened at the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 135 1st Street S.E., Paris, Lamar County, Texas, and bids will be tabulated and referred to the City Council for its consideration. Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after the date of passage.
