Any additional officer position(s) requested through <br />CIS must be new positions that supplement your agency's budgeted sworn force level. If you have any questions about <br />your application, please contact your COPS Grant Program Specialist at 800.421.6770. <br /> <br />rm COPS in Schools 2004 Application Form <br />The hilP1est rankini law enforcement and government executives in the . <br />jurisdiction must sign the Application Form. <br /> <br />J COPS in Schools Training ~eq~irement <br />The highest rankin~ law enforcement executive and one designated appropriate <br />school official must sign the CIS training requirement. <br /> <br />ri Certifications <br />The same law enforcement and government executives who signed the CIS <br />Application Form must sign the Certifications. <br /> <br />~ Assurances <br />The same law enforcement mMi government executives who signed the CIS <br />Application Form must sign the Assurances. <br /> <br />ai Disclosure of Lobbying Forms (if applicable) <br /> <br />J Retention Plan Certification <br />A complete and signed Retention Plan Certification must be submitted at.the time of application. <br /> <br />. By signing the Retention Plan Certification, your agency is committing to retain the increased number of officer <br />positions with local (non-COPS) funds for at least one fu1llocal budget cycle following the expiration of the 36- <br />month COPS grant funding period for each officer position (please see the Application Instructions on page 17). <br />. The Retention Plan Certification must identify how your agency plans to secure and provide funding to continue <br />the employment of the additional officer position(s) by specifying the anticipated source or sources of funding <br />for the salary and benefits for the retained position(s). <br />. The Retention Plan Certification must have original signatures of both the law enforcement executive and the <br />government executive.
