RESOLUTION NO. 2004-086 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS HISTORICAL COMMISSION FOR A CERTIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT GRANT TO PARTIALLY FUND THE COMPLETION OF AN UPDATED HISTORIC RESOURCE SURVEY OF THE CITY OF PARIS; AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS; ACCEPTING SAID GRANT AWARD UPON NOTICE THEREOF; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR ACCEPTANCE AND IMPLEMENTATION OF SAID GRANT UPON NOTICE THEREOF; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Paris Historic Preservation Commission had previously recommended to the City Council of the City of Paris that a grant application be submitte,d to the Texas Historical Commission seeking grant assistance to perform an updated survey of historic resources within the city of Paris; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, did heretofore, on the 9th day of June, 2003, in Resolution No. 2003-104, authorize an application to the Texas Historic Commission, Certified Local Government Division, for a Certified Local Government (CLG) Grant in the amount of $7,500.00 to partially fund an updated survey of historic resources, with a $5,000.00 cash match to be provided by local resources; and, WHEREAS, the Texas Historic Commission provides grant funding for Certified Local Government Grants; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of submitting a grant application in the amount of$41,000.00 to further fund the completion of said updated survey of historic resources in the city of Paris, Texas, with $24,600.00 to be provided by grant and $16,400.00 to be provided by cash match; and, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the Mayor, City Manager, and appropriate City staff to accept and implement said grant (if same is received) without further action of City Council; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Se~tion 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved.
