RESOLUTION NO. 2004-091 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE MAIN STREET BOARD TO PARTICIPATE IN THE VISIONARIES IN PRESERVATION PROGRAM CREATED BY THE TEXAS HISTORICAL COMMISSION; AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF APPROPRIATE APPLICATIONS, LETTER OF SUPPORT, AND OTHER NECESSARY DOCUMENTS ASSOCIATED THEREWITH; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Visionaries in Preservation Program was created by the Texas Historical Commission to address the preservation needs of communities across the state of Texas; and, WHEREAS, the Visionaries in Preservation Program empowers communities at the grass roots level to define their future through visioning and planning, in order to have a broad based, locally supported and directed preservation program; and, WHEREAS, the Visionaries in Preservation Program is currently accepting applications for qualified entities to participate in said program; and, WHEREAS, the City of Paris Main Street Board has reviewed said program and recommends the City of Paris file an application, letter of support, and all other necessary documents associated with seeking approval to participate in said program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the Mayor, City Manager, or other appropriate City official, shall be and is hereby authorized to execute any and all documents, including appropriate applications, letter of support, or other instruments associated with the City of Paris and the Main Street Board applying for participation in the Texas Historic Commission Visionaries in Preservation Program. Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
