<br />,> <br /> <br />City of Paris Commercial Historic District <br />Design Guidelines <br />Proposal for Services <br /> <br />Statement of Purpose: <br />The City of Paris wishes to develop Historic Preservation Guidelines for the city's <br />Commercial Historic District. The guidelines are to ensure the preservation of historic <br />resources within the district and ensure that any new development is sympathetic to the <br />historical design characteristics of Paris' commercial core. <br /> <br />Proposed Scope of Services: <br />The proposed scope of services covers the work necessary to complete the design guidelines. <br /> <br />This proposal assumes that ARCHITEXAS will perform all of the work outlined. Opportunities <br />for community input and participation will be explored and outlined at the PHPC's request. <br /> <br />Task 1- Preservation Guidelines Development Outline <br /> <br />ARCHITEXAS will meet with the PHPC to discuss the goals of the Preservation <br />Guidelines.Plan and determine the areas to be covered in the plan. Such areas might <br />include, but are not limited to, city historic districts, city conservation districts, and <br />commercial design and development guidelines. <br /> <br />These discussions will be utilized in the active development of an outline for the <br />Preservation Guidelines. The outline will then be distributed to all PHPC board members <br />for review and comment. <br /> <br />Task 2- Paris, Texas, Historic Preservation Guidelines <br /> <br />Based on the goals outlined in Tasks 1 and 2, the Paris, Texas Historic Preservation <br />Guidelines will be drafted. The written draft will include city preservation standards <br />developed according to the goals of the PHPC and, where appropriate, will include <br />illustrations and examples of those standards. The guidelines will be developed in <br />accordance with the City of Paris' enabling legislation regarding historic resources. The <br />draft will be distributed to the members of the PHPC for review, comment and revision <br />prior to completion of the final draft. <br /> <br />The final draft of the Paris, Texas Historic Preservation Guidelines will be competed and <br />a predetermined number of copies distributed to the PHPC. Additional copies will be <br />printed on request for an additional fee. <br /> <br />EXHIBIT A. <br />
