~~ RESOLUTION NO. 2004-096 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WIm A PERSONNEL CONSULTING FIRM TO CONDUCT A PERSONNEL SEARCH FOR CITY MANAGER CANDIDATES FOR THE POSITION OF CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council has requested City staff to present possible professional personnel search firms to utilize in assisting the City of Paris to identify qualified candidates and applicants for the position of City Manager of the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, as the result of City staff identifying qualified firms for such search, the City Council has narrowed the number of fmn for such purpose to those firms located within the state of Texas which are within a reasonable distance of the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, subsequent to said initial review process, the City Council has authorized staff to invite the identified search firms to make formal presentations to the City Council with regard to their firm policies, procedures, and fees for performing such personnel searches; and, WHEREAS, the City Council, at a special called meeting held on May 24, 2004, allowed the identified firms to make presentations before the City Council regarding their firm's expertise, experience, and other qualifications and fees associated with said search; and, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to enter into a personal and professional services contract with a personnel search firm to provide special services to the City of Paris in identifying qualified candidates for the position of City Manager of the City of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the fmdings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, does hereby authorize the Mayor to execute and the City Clerk to attest to a personal and professional services agreement, as said agreement shall be negotiated by the Mayor and shall be in such form as shall be acceptable to the City Attorney, by and between the City of Paris and The Waters Consulting Group, Inc. to perform a professional personnel search for qualified candidates to serve as the City Manager of the City of Paris, Texas.
