2004-066-RES APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE HERITAGE PARK PAVING AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT

RESOLUTION NO. 2004-066 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE HERITAGE PARK PAVING AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT; AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR SAID CONSTRUCTION; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 14th day of October, 2002, in Resolution No. 2002-164, authorize the execution of a Lease Agreement with the Chamber of Commerce of Lamar County for use of the Paris Santa Fe-Frisco Railroad Depot property; and, WHEREAS, as part of said Lease Agreement, the City of Paris agreed to construct a parking lot on a portion of the Paris Santa Fe-Frisco Depot property to be used jointly by the Chamber and by patrons of Heritage Park, with the Chamber agreeing to be responsible, at its sole cost and expense, for any and all necessary maintenance, repairs, improvements, and upkeep of said parking lot; and, WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore, on the 8th day of March, 2004, in Resolution No. 2004-051, authorize an engineering services agreement with Hayter Engineering for the Heritage Park Paving and Drainage Improvements Project; and, WHEREAS, plans and specifications have been prepared by Hayter Engineering, with the title being given thereto of the "Heritage Park Paving and Drainage Improvements Project," which plans and specifications are recommended for approval by the City Engineer of the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that such plans and specifications be approved, and said Project should be authorized for advertisement for bids; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the plans and specifications for the "Heritage Park Paving and Drainage Improvements Project" be, and the same are hereby, approved. Section 3. That such construction project be advertised for bids to be received after due notice at the office of the City Manager of the City of Paris, City Hall, 135 1st Street S.E., Paris,
