<br />Division 86 <br />Wastewater Treatment <br />The Director of Utilities is the administrative officer responsible for this division of the Utilities <br />Department which is funded in the Water and Sewer Fund. Employees of this division operate the <br />wastewater treatment plant, the sludge disposal fields, and the master lift station. Thé <br />Environmental Services personnel ensure compliance with all environmental regulations, enforce <br />the sewer use ordinance, and manage the Industrial Pretreatment Program required by the U. S. <br />Environmental Protection Agency and the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission. The <br />Environmental Services Laboratory performs tests on water and wastewater to assist the plant <br />operations, ensure compliance with state and federal permits, and maintain potable water quality. <br />Division 87 <br />Lift Stations <br />The Director of Utilities is the administrative officer responsible for this division of the Utilities <br />Department funded in the Water and Sewer Fund. Employees ofthis division operate and maintain <br />fifteen sewage lift statiOQs and two bypass retention basins located in different areas of the City. <br />These lift stations pump wastewater to the wastewater treatment plant. Lift Station personnel also <br />operate and maintain the Flow Equalization Basins and Pump Station located on Stillhouse Road, <br />and the alarm system connected to all stations. <br />{ <br />( <br />'" <br />
