<br />PARIS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002-006 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE PARIS <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION SUPPORTING AND <br />ENDORSING THE EFFORTS OF THE NORTHEAST TEXAS REGIONAL <br />MOBILITY COUNCIL TO CLOSE THE TRANSPORTATION GAP ON <br />STATE HIGHWAY 24; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Northeast Texas Regional Mobility Council (NETMOB) was organized <br />to improve transportation systems and technology infrastructure through regional cooperation, <br />planning, and the investment of public and private funds; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this purpose will facilitate better public safety, economic development, and <br />accessibility; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, State Highway 24 is four lane divided from Interstate 30 to Paris with the <br />exception of 18.6 miles in Delta County; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, State Highway 24 is a part of the Texas Trunk System and the National <br />Highway System providing a vital link for industry and commerce; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this section of highway has received priority status through the commitment <br />of federal funds; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED <br />CORPORATION: <br /> <br />BY <br /> <br />THE <br /> <br />PARIS <br /> <br />ECONOMIC <br /> <br />DEVELOPMENT <br /> <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Paris Economic Development Corporation fully supports and endorses <br />the efforts of NETMOB to close this transportation gap on State Highway 24. <br /> <br />Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED this 9th day of <br /> <br /> <br />
