A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH BUREAU VERITAS FOR PLAN REVIEW AND BUILDING INSPECTION SERVICES; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council has been made aware of the resignation of the current Building Official for the City of Paris effective January 23, 2009; and, WHEREAS, in order to continue providing plan review and inspection services to the citizens of Paris, it is necessary for the City to enter into a contract with Bureau Veritas, a third-party plan review and building inspection services company, to provide these services for the City of Paris on a fee basis; and, WHEREAS, a copy of the Contract is attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A", should in all things be approved, and the City Manager should be authorized and directed to execute said Agreement on behalf of the City of Paris. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. The findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. The City Council approves the City of Paris entering into a Contract with Bureau Veritas for plan review and building inspection services in a form substantially similar to the form attached hereto as Exhibit "A." Section 3. The City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute and negotiate all necessary documents on behalf of the City of Paris to effectuate this Agreement. Section 4.
