MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2009 <br />12:00 0'CLOCK P.M. <br />The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett, <br />Chairman. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Ben Vaughan (arrived late) <br />Susan Scholz, Secretary <br />Jerry Raper <br />Brad Archer <br />Paul Denney, Vice-Chairman <br />Matt Coyle <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />None <br />C. Also present was Bethany Golden, Main Street Manger. <br />2. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate ofAppropriateness: <br />A. 104 Bonham Street - MetroPCS, by Dave Green - Bill Bowman represented <br />MetroPCS and stated that they are bringing a new cellular service to Paris now, and other <br />carriers are already in place on top of the building. Arvin Starrett asked about platform <br />height. Mr. Bowman stated the platform is 12 inches and the height above the building is <br />1 to 1'/2 inches. The structure is only 6 feet tall and they are bone white fiberglass in <br />material and could be painted, if needed. Brad Archer asked if equipment could be <br />moved back several feet. Bill Bowman stated they placed it where it was structurally <br />sound and they thought the signal might not be compromised. Arvin Starrett inquired if <br />the antennas could be attached to the penthouse. Mr. Bowman stated perhaps they could, <br />there are some already on the penthouse, and his only concern was that MetroPCS may <br />be interfering with antennas already in place. Paul Denney stated he prefers putting the <br />antennas on the penthouse. Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Brad Archer <br />to approve the amended COA, mounting the antennas to the penthouse, painting them, to <br />blend with penthouse wall and they are not to go above the penthouse roof line. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />B. 824 S. Main Street - LaYry SZagle - Mr. Slagle represented the petitioner, stating <br />the garage doors will be carriage style. Motion was made by Paul Denney, seconded by <br />Susan Scholz to approve the COA. Motion carried unanimously. <br />
