MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, JANUARY 20. 2009 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. Bill Harris called the Building and Standards Commission meeting to order at 4:00 P.M. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Chris Brown <br />Vicki Ballard <br />Bill Harris <br />Zach Saffle <br />Ryan Lassiter <br />Harrell Tippitt <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Lucius Joe, Jr. <br />2. Approval of Minutes of previous meeting: <br />Motion was made and seconded to approve the meeting minutes for December 15, 2008. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />3. Public Hearing to consider presentations by City of Paris Code Inspectors and <br />owner(s) and/or lien holder(s) of the below properties who have been given notice of <br />a violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, <br />Paris, Texas, entitled "Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures": <br />A. 635 7th Street N.W.; Lot 1 thru 12, Block 1 and 2, Martin Block Addition - <br />Motion was made by Vicki Ballard, seconded by Harrell Tippitt, to allow 14 days <br />to secure and 90 days to repair or demolish. If the property is not demolished in <br />90 days the City may demolish, with a$1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />B. 545 14th Street N.W.; Lot 11, City Block 241 - No action taken. Wrong <br />address. <br />C. 406 13th Street S.W.; Lot 1, City Block 218 - No action taken. House has <br />already been torn down. <br />D. 2606 W. Sherman Street; Lot 16, Block A, Porter's l" Addition - Motion was <br />made by Chris Brown, seconded by Bill Harris, to allow 30 days to demolish. If <br />the property is not demolished in 30 days, the City may demolish, with a$1,000 <br />per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. <br />a U 0 UG2.: <br />
