Minutes <br />Traffic Commission <br />City of Paris <br />The Traffic Commission met on Tuesday, October 7th, 2008, at 5:15 P.M. in the <br />Municipal Courtroom with the following members present: <br />1. <br />Bee Garmon <br />2. <br />Tom Calabria <br />3. <br />Jon McFadden <br />4. <br />Ray Banks <br />5. <br />Stephen Holmes <br />The city staff was represented by Assistant Chief of Police Bob Hundley. <br />The meeting was called to order at 5:18 by Senior Commission Member Jon <br />McFadden in Mr. Kimbrough's absence. A quorum was established by 4 <br />members being present. <br />Mr. McFadden asked the commission members to review the submitted minutes <br />of the August 5th, 2008 meeting. Mr. Banks made a motion to approve the <br />minutes which was seconded by Mr. Holmes and passed 5-0. <br />Mr. McFadden moved to item #3 regarding nomination and election of a vice <br />chairman for the traffic commission. Mr. Banks nominated Mr. McFadden for the <br />position and the members of the commission moved by acclamation to close <br />nomination and for Mr. McFadden to serves in this position. This passed 4-0 <br />Item #4 had been tabled at last month's meeting. Mr. McFadden asked for a <br />motion to remove from the table, Mr. Banks made the motion, Mr. Holmes <br />seconded and the vote was unanimous. Asst. Chief Hundley passed out <br />diagrams prepared by the City of Paris engineering office. Unfortunately, the <br />engineer had determined that Main Street was wide enough for parking upon <br />only one side of the street. Asst. Chief Hundley's recommendation to the <br />Commission was to allow the no parking area to remain in place on both sides of <br />the street. Some commission members were not in attendance and Mr. Holmes <br />made a motion to place the item back on the table until such time that the full <br />commission was available for review. That motion was seconded by Mr. Banks <br />and it passed 4-0. <br />Item #5 was brought forth by Mr. McFadden regarding a no parking area on NE <br />35th Street. Asst. Chief Hundley explained that 35th already has a no parking <br />area on the easj ~cyrb line that stops for no apparent reason in the 300 block. <br />This reque~t1rs to continue the no parking area along the east curb to the 400 <br />block. Mr. Holmes made a motion to approve the no parking zone as presented, <br />f1W101 D 6 <br />
