Minutes Traffic Commission City of Paris The Traffic Commission met on Tuesday, October 7th, 2008, at 5:15 P.M. in the Municipal Courtroom with the following members present: 1. Bee Garmon 2. Tom Calabria 3. Jon McFadden 4. Ray Banks 5. Stephen Holmes The city staff was represented by Assistant Chief of Police Bob Hundley. The meeting was called to order at 5:18 by Senior Commission Member Jon McFadden in Mr. Kimbrough's absence. A quorum was established by 4 members being present. Mr. McFadden asked the commission members to review the submitted minutes of the August 5th, 2008 meeting. Mr. Banks made a motion to approve the minutes which was seconded by Mr. Holmes and passed 5-0. Mr. McFadden moved to item #3 regarding nomination and election of a vice chairman for the traffic commission. Mr. Banks nominated Mr. McFadden for the position and the members of the commission moved by acclamation to close nomination and for Mr. McFadden to serves in this position. This passed 4-0 Item #4 had been tabled at last month's meeting. Mr. McFadden asked for a motion to remove from the table, Mr. Banks made the motion, Mr. Holmes seconded and the vote was unanimous. Asst. Chief Hundley passed out diagrams prepared by the City of Paris engineering office. Unfortunately, the engineer had determined that Main Street was wide enough for parking upon only one side of the street. Asst. Chief Hundley's recommendation to the Commission was to allow the no parking area to remain in place on both sides of the street. Some commission members were not in attendance and Mr. Holmes made a motion to place the item back on the table until such time that the full commission was available for review. That motion was seconded by Mr. Banks and it passed 4-0. Item #5 was brought forth by Mr. McFadden regarding a no parking area on NE 35th Street. Asst. Chief Hundley explained that 35th already has a no parking area on the easj ~cyrb line that stops for no apparent reason in the 300 block. This reque~t1rs to continue the no parking area along the east curb to the 400 block. Mr. Holmes made a motion to approve the no parking zone as presented, f1W101 D 6
