RESOLUTION N0. 2009-029 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE DONATION BY STATE FARM INSURANCE, <br />SCOTT KENNEDY, AGENT, OF A CONCRETE PAD, BLEACHERS AND <br />SHADE STRUCTURE OR CANOPY OVER THE BLEACHERS AT THE <br />ADULT SOCCER FIELD AT DRAGON PARK AND SEEDING THE <br />SOCCER FIELD AT DRAGON PARK; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is in receipt of an offer from <br />State Farm Insurance, Scott Kennedy, Agent, to make improvements at the adult <br />soccer field at Dragon Park consisting of the construction of a concrete pad, bleacher <br />stands and a shade or canopy structure ("Improvements") for use by the visitors to <br />Dragon Park and the citizens of Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, the specifications for the Improvements are attached hereto as <br />Exhibit A; and, <br />WHEREAS, State Farm Insurance, Scott Kennedy, Agent, has also proposed to <br />cut and reseed the adult soccer field at Dragon Park for the benefit of the local soccer <br />league and the City of Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, the generosity of Scott Kennedy is appreciated and it would be in <br />the best interest of the citizens of Paris to accept such donation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are <br />hereby in all things approved. <br />Section 2. That the construction and donation of the Improvements and the <br />re-seeding of the adult soccer field at Dragon Park as described herein and in the <br />plans and specifications attached hereto as Exhibit "A" (including any additional plans <br />or specifications required by the City Engineer in the future), be, and is hereby, in all <br />things accepted subject to the City Engineer's review, inspection and approval of all <br />plans and specifications and or permits related to this project. <br />Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after the date of <br />passage. <br />
