Section 503.2.2, Authority, shall be amended to read as follows: <br />The Fire Code Official shall have the authority to require an <br />increase in the minimum access widths and vertical clearances <br />where they are inadequate for fire or rescue operations. <br />Section 503.2.3, Surface, shall be amended to read as follows: <br />Fire lanes shall be constructed of an asphalt or concrete <br />surface capable of supporting the imposed loads of a 2-axle, <br />75,000 lb. fire apparatus. The design shall be based on the <br />geotechnical investigation of the site, but shall meet the stated <br />minimums, as follows. Those portions of the fire lane within <br />sixty feet (60') of the structure to be protected shall be <br />constructed with 6-inch thick, 3000 psi concrete with No. 3 bars <br />spaced 24 inches on centers both ways and with sub-grade to a <br />density not less than 95 percent as determined by TSDHPT Test <br />Method Tex-113. Portions of the fire lane constructed of <br />asphalt shall be ninety-five (95) percent compaction with a 6- <br />inch asphalt stabilized base and 2-inch type D hot mix asphalt <br />concrete, State Highway specification number 292. Whenever <br />forty percent (40%) of existing, non-conforming fire lanes are <br />replaced within a twelve month period, the entire fire lane shall <br />be replaced according to current standards. <br />All fire lanes shall be maintained and kept in a good state of <br />repair at all times by the owner and the City of Paris shall not be <br />responsible for the maintenance thereof. It shall further be the <br />responsibility of the owner to insure that all fire lane markings <br />required by Sec. 503.3 be properly maintained so that they are <br />easily distinguishable by the public. <br />Section 503.3, Marking, shall be amended to read as follows: <br />Striping, signs, or other markings, when approved by the <br />Fire Code Official, shall be provided for fire apparatus access <br />roads to identify such roads or prohibit the obstruction thereof. <br />Striping, signs, or other markings shall be maintained in a clean <br />and legible condition at all times and replaced or repaired when <br />necessary to provide adequate visibility. <br />L1) Striping - Fire apparatus access roads shall be <br />continuously marked by painted lines of red traffic paint <br />14 <br />0 0UC(iF6 <br />
