Section 508.5.1, Where required, shall be amended as follows: <br />Where a portion of the facility or building hereafter <br />constructed or moved into within the City of Paris is more than <br />500 feet from a hydrant on a fire apparatus access road, as <br />measured by an approved route around the exterior of the <br />facility or building, on-site fire hydrants and mains shall be <br />provided where required by the Fire Code Official. <br />1. PROTECTED PROPERTIES. Fire hydrants required to <br />provide a supplemental water supply for automatic <br />fire protection system shall be within 100 feet of the <br />fire department connection for such systems. <br />2. FIRE HYDRANT LOCATIONS. Fire hydrants shall be <br />located 2 feet to 6 feet back from the curb or fire lane <br />and shall not be located in the bulb of a cul-de-sac. <br />Section 511, EMERGENCY RADIO COMMUNICATIONS, shall be added to <br />read as follows: <br />SECTION 511 EMERGENCY RADIO COMMUNICATIONS <br />511.1 Signal strength in buildings. In all new and existing <br />buildings in which the type of construction or distance from an <br />operational emergency services antenna or dispatch site does <br />not provide adequate frequency or signal strength, as <br />determined by the Fire Code Official, the building owner shall <br />be responsible for providing the equipment, installation and <br />maintenance of said equipment in a manner to strengthen the <br />radio signal. The radio signal shall meet the minimum <br />input/output strengths according to the emergency radio <br />system's provider and fire department's communications <br />officer. <br />Section 704.1, Enclosure, shall be amended to read as follows: <br />Interior vertical shafts, including but not limited to <br />stairways, elevator hoistways, service and utility shafts, that <br />connect two or more stories of a building shall be enclosed or <br />protected in accordance with the codes in effect at the time of <br />construction but, regardless of when constructed, not less than <br />as specified in Table 704.1. When openings are required to be <br />protected, openings into such shafts shall be maintained self- <br />closing or automatic-closing by smoke detection.
