There are numerous appointees whose terms have expired; <br />however, the same board members have continued to meet on a quarterly basis. <br />This is a unique board in that the members are appointed by joint action of Lamar County <br />Commissioners Court and the Paris City Council. By City Ordinance, this board also requires three <br />practicing physicians, one practicing dentist and three citizens to serve with three year staggered terms. <br />City staff advertised for interested persons who wish to serve on a board or a commission to complete an <br />application. There is one vacant position and staff received one application, which was from Brady <br />Fisher. <br />The City Clerk spoke with Anthony Bethel, Director of the Health Department regarding appointees, the <br />terms being changed to follow the policies and procedures adopted by City Council and the application <br />of Brady Fisher.
