Regular City Council Meeting <br />May 26, 2009 <br />Page 2 <br />Consent Agenda <br />6. Deliberate and act on the approval of minutes from the meeting on 1VIay 11, 2009. <br />7. Receive and deliberate on reports and/or minutes from the following boards, commissions, <br />and committees: <br />a. Lake Pat Mayse Study Committee (4-2-09, 4-30-09) <br />b. Planning and Zoning (4-6-09, 4-13-09) <br />c. Library Advisory Board (4-15-09) <br />Deliberate on report on Casa Bonita demolition project. <br />Council Member Pickle made a Motion to approve the Consent Agenda and Council Member <br />Rogers seconded the Motion. The Council voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to approve and <br />adopt Consent Agenda Items 5, 6, 7, and 8. <br />Regular Agenda <br />9. Issuance of Certificate of Election; Administer Statement of Elected Officer to Council <br />Members; and Administer Oath of Office to newly elected Council Members. <br />Mayor Freelen issued a certificate of election to Council Ivlember Brown, Council Member <br />Biard and Council Member Rogers. City Clerk Janice Ellis administered the statement and oath of <br />office to Council Members Brown, Biard, and Rogers. <br />10. Election by City Council of Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem to serve the City of Paris for the next <br />year. <br />A Motion to elect Jesse James Freelen as Mayor was made by Council Member Kear and <br />seconded by Council Member Rogers. Motion carried, 4 ayes - 2 nays, with Council Members Brown <br />and Pickle casting the dissenting votes. <br />A Motion to elect Joe McCarthy as Mayor Pro Tem was made by Council Member Rogers and <br />seconded by Council Member Kear. Motion carried, 5 ayes - 1 nay, with Council Member Pickle <br />casting the dissenting vote. <br />11. Deliberate on April monthly financial report. <br />Gene Anderson answered questions from City Council. <br />12.
