Target statistically supported areas of violent crime. <br />2. Promote the use of inter-local agreements (Texas Government Code, Chapter 791) to target statisticaily supported crime threats to <br />a specified geographical area. <br />3. Promote intelligence sharing, crime reporting and communication. <br />4. Promote comprehensive solutions [o local criminal justice priorities. <br />5. Projects that demonstrate sustainability of grant-funded personnel positiims. <br />Sustainability - Does your proposai include grent-funded personnel? <br />Yes <br />X No <br />If you selected Yes above, describe your plans for sustaining funding for the personnel. <br />Enter the sustainability description: <br />Criminal )ustice Expenditures - Applicant assures that the amount of the application is no more than the amount it expended on local <br />criminal justice services in the previous year. <br />Purpose Areas <br />Applicant assures that its proposed projeCt meets at least one of the following Purpose Areas to be eligible for funding: <br />Law Enforcement - Supports state and local law enforcement agencies that address violent crime or statistically supported major crime <br />initiatives at the local level. <br />Prosecution and Court - Programs that improve the prosecution of serious and violent crimes, including those that reduce the time from <br />arrest to disposition. <br />Technoloav - Programs that implement or expand a law enforcement agency's ability to report and analyze crime. Applicant assures that <br />any criminal intelligence databases developed under this program will comply with 28 CFR Part 23. <br />PrPVPntion and Education - Programs that defer at-risk youth and juveniles from participating fn gangs and criminal activity. <br />Corrections and Communitv Cor i n - Programs that reintegrate adults and juveniles into the community. <br />Crjme Victim and Witness - Programs that deliver direct services to victims and witnesses of violent crime. <br />Drua Treatment - Programs that target substance abuse treatment for juveniles or adults who have been court ordered to participate, <br />including drug courts and projects that serve as alternatives to incarceration. <br />Program Emphasis <br />The applicant agrees to implement comprehensive stretegies that reduce violent crime and its affect on communities through a balanced <br />approach to prevention, enforcement and restoration. <br />Note: Although each area under the Program Emphasis section may not be applicab/e to all applicants, a numeric value <br />must be entered in each box and total no more than 100%.
