in for services and more programs are implemented We will need enough financial support to hire two persons in <br />order to iustifv the opening of another office We will use volunteers but two staff members would be needed to assure <br />continuation of services to clients. <br />Last year SAFE T provided services to approximately 73 clients from Lamar Countv. We estimate that in 2009 that <br />number will increase to over 100 We currently have two Paris residents in the shelter which can hold 25 people. There <br />are five bedrooms with five bunk beds in each room We can add cribs or pallets far children when needed. We haye <br />full time staff 24/7 I have attached pictures of our shelter and offices since travel to visit these in Mt. Pleasant might <br />be a hardship for some City Council Members. <br />We have also included several brochures that list our services as well as pictures of the shelter and Outreach offices. <br />The City of Paris citizens have been very supportive of helping victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. We <br />are fortunate to be able to work with such dedicated people Anv financial assistance that the City of Paris can provide <br />to SAFE T will be reinvested in this communitv by~providing support services to victims of abuse with the goal of <br />keeping victims safe while reducing the trauma of abuse. <br />SAFE T would like to request $10 000 from the City of Paris as start up funds for the SAFE-T Paris Outreach Office <br />and the possibilitv of opening a shelter in 2010 The Outreach office will generate community support as well as <br />educate clients re ardin the services that we provide. <br />Although we do not haveprojectpartners the Crime Victim Council has been a Qreat support to us as has law <br />enforcement the District Attorney's Office CASA The Child Advocacy Center and Child Protective Services. <br />City of Paris <br />Revised 6/10/08 <br />M 000161 <br />
