REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF PARIS <br />October 12, 2009 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 5:30 P.M. on Monday, <br />October 12, 2009, at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman, Paris, Texas. <br />Present: Mayor: Jesse James Freelen <br />Council Members: Joe McCarthy; Kevin Kear; Stephen Brown; <br />Edwin Pickle; and Rhonda Rogers <br />City Staf£ Kevin Carruth, City Manager; Kent McIlyar, <br />City Attorney; Janice Ellis, City Clerk; Gene <br />Anderson, Financial Director; Shawn Napier, <br />City Engineer; Bob Hundley, Police Chief; and <br />Ronnie Grooms, Fire Chief. <br />Absent: Council Member Will Biard <br />Opening Agenda <br />l. Call meeting to order. <br />Mayor Freelen called the meeting to order at 5:32 p.m. <br />2. Invocation. <br />Gene Anderson gave the invocation. <br />3. Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Council Member Pickle led the pledge. <br />4. Citizens' forum. <br />Sharon Nabors, 1822 E. Polk - she said she served on Region D's Water Planning Group and <br />they had a meeting scheduled on October 15`h in Mt. Pleasant. She said one of the items was a request <br />that the Paris City Council wanted to change the State Water Plan and that she needed clarification, <br />so she would know how to vote. City Manager Kevin Carruth stated that the Lake Pat Mayse Study <br />Committee and the City Council approved as part of the report the hydrographic study that was done <br />to determine the capacity of the lake. Mr. Carruth said the item on the Region D Agenda was a <br />merely a scientific analysis of the amount of the water in the lake. <br />h w`a - , 2 <br />
