MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, SEPTEIVIBER 28, 2009 <br />4:00 0'CLOCK P.M. <br />The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett, <br />Chainnan. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Douglas Cox <br />Ben Vaughan <br />Jerry Raper <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Matt Coyle <br />Susan Scholz, Secretary <br />Paul Denney, Vice-Chairman <br />C. Also present was Jeanna Scott, City Staff. <br />2. Approval of minutes fi-om previous rneetitigs. (September 9, 2009) <br />Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by Douglas Cox to approve the minutes for <br />the September 9, 2009 meeting. Motion carried 4-0. <br />3. Consideration of and action oiz the,following Cer•tificates of Appf•opriateness: <br />A. 340 Bonlaam Street - Glenn Wark, contractor, presented the petition. Mr. Wark <br />stated the property owners want to paint the aluininum trim around the window and <br />door using the color HC-67 (Clinton Brown). Mr. Wark is also reguesting pennission <br />to remove the attached Whitaker Pawn Shop sign and all fixtures. Ben Vaughan <br />stated we have already approved the installation of a wood door. Mr. Wark stated the <br />door is very expensive and the owner is unable to install the door at this time. Mr. <br />Wark further stated the owner is trying to make the outside look better. The <br />commission reminded Mr. Wark that there is a farade grant available to businesses in <br />the district to help with the cost. Motion was made by Douglas Cox, seconded by <br />Jerry Raper to deny the painting of the trim and to approve the removal of the sign <br />and its hardware. Motion carried 4-0. <br />
