Director of <br />Council Date: <br />Commission <br />Engineering, Planning & <br />l Ob. <br />10/26/09 <br />Develo ment <br />RECOMMENDED MOTION: <br />Move to approve an ordinance amending the Future Land Use Plan Map from SF-2 to MF-2 at 2232 <br />Simpson Street. <br />POLICY ISSUE(S): <br />Planning & Zoning <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The current Comprehensive Plan and accompanying Future Land Use Map were adopted on September <br />6, 2001 and the revised Map and Legend Explanations were adopted on May 12, 2008. Any zoning <br />changes which do not comply with the recommended uses shown on the Future Land Use Plan Map <br />require a formal amendment to such Map. <br />Frances Russell Wells has requesting that the property located on Lots 12 and 13, Block 1, Stellrose <br />Addition, located at 2232 Simpson Street, be rezoned from a Single Family Dwelling District No. 2(SF- <br />2) to a Multiple Family Dwelling District No. 2(MF-2). The Future Land Use Plan Map recommends <br />that this area be zoned for Low Density Residential, which will not allow the proposed project to move <br />forward. On October 5, 2009, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended that the City <br />Council approve the amendment to the Map that would allow for High Density Residential use. <br />Planning & Zoning recommended approval of the amendment to the Future Land Use Plan Map, one <br />person spoke in favor of the petition.
