POLICY ISSUE(S): Plat Approval and Variance BACKGROUND: This is the preliminary and final plats for Lot 1, Block A, Ray's Place Addition CB 78, located at 601 North Main Street. The owner is proposing to build a commercial building for the sale of alcohol. Staff recommends approval of the preliminary and final plats, subject to corrections needed in the attached memos. Mr. Lonnie Layton has requested a variance for the construction of curb and gutter on NW lst Street. Staff recommends that the variance be approved. The roadside ditch is deep on the West side of the property and installing curb and gutter is impractical in this situation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: P&Z recommended approval of the preliminary and final plats, subject to City Engineer's recommendation by a vote of 5-0 on the plat.
