The grant has been preliminarily <br />approved, but staff has been contacted by the governor's office regarding additional language now needed in the <br />resolution. The additional language provides for repayment or return of any grant monies if any of the monies are <br />lost or misused. <br />The America Recovery and Reinvestment Act provided funding through the Edward C. Byrne Justice Assistance <br />Grant for local grant applications submitted through the Governors Criminal Justice Division (GCJD). These <br />grant applications will be processed through the GCJD and passed to the local Regional Council of Governments <br />for approval. <br />The Police Department grant of $61,500 is for the purchase of `live scan' computer equipment and related <br />software interfaces for the CIS Records Management System and Municipal Court Software.
