DRAFT <br />attorney\ordwork\current\Traffic - No Parking - 5000 Blk Old Clarksville 2009 <br />ORDINANCE N0. <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL MAP ADOPTED IN <br />SECTIOIV 31-65 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS; ESTABLISHING NO PARKING AREAS ON BOTH <br />SIDES OF OLD CLARKSVILLE ROAD IN THE 5000 BLOCK; MAKI11iG <br />OTHER FINDIIVGS A1VD PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; <br />PROVIDING FOR A REPEALER CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, A <br />SAVINGS CLAUSE, A PENALTY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the Traffic Commission at its regular meeting of October 6, 2009, <br />considered a request to establish a no parking area on both sides of Old Clarksville <br />Road in the 5000 block as depicted on Exhibit A attached hereto, because of reports <br />that vehicles parking in this area cause a traffic hazard due to the curve of the <br />roadway; and, <br />WHEREAS, having considered the request, the Traffic Commission voted <br />unanimously to recommend that a no parking area be added to both sides of the road <br />in the 5000 block of Old Clarksville Road, Paris, Texas. <br />1VOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUIVCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are <br />hereby in all things approved. <br />Section 2. That the Traffic Control Map adopted in Section 31-65 (b) of the <br />Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended to <br />include the following No Parking areas: <br />"On both sides of Old Clarksville Road in the 5000 block beginning <br />200 feet southeast of the curve, around the curve, and ending <br />200 feet northwest of the curve at the intersection with Trail de <br />Paris as depicted on Exhibit A attached hereto." <br />Section 3. That all provisions of the ordinances of the City of Paris, Texas in <br />conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed, and all other <br />provisions of the ordinances of the City of Paris not in conflict with the provisions of <br />this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect. <br />Section 4. That the repeal of any ordinance or part of ordinances affected by <br />the enactment of this ordinance shall not be construed as abandoning any action now <br />'.1 8,5 <br />
