POLICY ISSUE(S): Election BACKGROUND: The Lamar County Appraisal District (LCAD) is governed by a five member Board of Directors whose terms expire at the end of 2009. The following table shows those who have been nominated so far. Candidates Incumbent New Terry Christian X David Dunman X Bill Harris X Jerry McFadden X Jun Noble X Kim Smallwood X The posirion requires: 1. Qualifications - Must be a resident of the district; must have resided in the district for at least two years; should not have any delinquent taxes. An employee of a ta~ng unit that participates in the district is not eligible to serve UNLESS the individual is a membex of the governing body of that taxng unit or an elected official of the taxing unit. 2. Board Duties - Appoints the Chief Appraiser; appoints Appraisal Review Board membexs; approves the district budget; and adopts general policies.
