Paris Economic Development Corporation <br />Meeting Minutes <br />October 13, 2009 <br />Board Members Staff <br />Present: John Wright Present: Shannon Barrentine <br />Rick Poston <br />Chad Brown <br />Pike Burkhart, Sr. <br />Ex-officio Members Guest <br />Present: Pam Anglin Present: Connie Beard <br />Kent Mcilyar Clifton Fendley <br />Chuck Superville Michael Hunter <br />Kenny Dority <br />Edwin Pickle <br />Kevin Carruth <br />Jesse Freelen <br />John Wright, Vice-President, called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. <br />Minutes from the September 8, 2009 meeting were approved unanimously as presented <br />on a motion made by Chad Brown seconded by Rick Poston. <br />The August and September financial reports were presented. Rick Poston asked about the <br />line item expenses for September: New Industry Projects, $5,037.50 and Court <br />Costs/Special Service Fees, $7,032.63. Kenny Dority called Mindy Moree to ask what <br />those charges were for. Mindy reported: New Industry was to J. Stowe Company water <br />rate consulting for the Daisy Dairy project for $2,497.50 and Adams Engineering, design <br />services for lndustrial Park for $2,540.00. The Special Service Fees were for legal fees <br />pertaining to the Kampfer separation agreement. Rick Poston made a motion to approve <br />the financials as submitted; seconded by Chad Brown. Motion carried. <br />New Business: <br />Clifton Fendley and Michael Hunter of Paris Living presented the Board a request for <br />funding of a consultant, Don Curry, to submit agrant application through the U.S. <br />Treasury Department to form a Certified Community Development Financial lnstitution <br />in Paris, Texas. Discussion took place as to how the progam will work. It was confirmed <br />that this prograrn would work with the local banks and not in competition with them for <br />financing of housing and development. Pike Burkhart made a motion to approve up to <br />$10,000 to fund the consultant fees, with city attorney's review and approval; seconded <br />by Chad Brown. Motion carried. <br />Rick Poston updated the Baard on what maintenance had been done at the Industrial Park <br />and around the GTech building since the last meeting. He is still waiting on some cost <br />quotes for various areas needing attention. <br />µ 0 0 0 E~~~~ <br />
