CITY OF PARIS <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />BID SPECIFICATIONS FOR FURNISHING <br />FLEXIBLE BASE MATERIAL (RED ROCK) <br />Requirements: <br />It is estimated that 4,000 tons of Flexible Base Material (Red Rock) will be required in the operation <br />of the Street Division of Public Works during the period of March 1, 2010 through <br />March 1, 2011. <br />Exact quantities cannot be determined, but estimates are given as shown above. Quantities may <br />be increased or decreased to meet the requirement of the operations of the Street Division of <br />Public Works during the period shown above. A minimum is not guaranteed. <br />Specifications: <br />Flexible Base Material (Red Rock) must conform to Item 247, 2004 edition of "Texas <br />Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Construction and Maintenance of <br />Highways, Streets and Bridges" or later edition. Materials must be frorn an approved TXDOT <br />material source. Bidder must provide documentation that material has been tested and meets <br />TXDOT specifications. <br />Material will be sampled randomly during delivery and testing by the City of Paris. Failure of <br />material to meet TXDOT specifications will be reason for termination of contract and/or removal <br />from bid list. <br />Delivery: <br />Delivery to be made to the Public Works Service Center, 50 W. Hickory, Paris, Texas, or other <br />site within the city limits of the City of Paris. <br />Due to limited storage space, the City of Paris will place individual orders of approximately <br />1,000 to 2,000 tons of material during the life of the contract. The supplier will begin delivery <br />within 72 hours of placing order, and will complete the order of 1,000 to 2,000 tons within 14 <br />calendar days. City forces will stockpile material as it is delivered. <br />
